I bought my first point-and-shoot digital camera after my first grandchild was born, in 2003. In 2006 I bought a digital Leica and since then have shot almost daily.
Because I live in New York City, I started off shooting outdoors on city streets. Indoors I photographed my elderly father, then an elderly friend.
Now I'm also drawn to stories in places like a neighbor's apartment, a nursing home, my immediate neighborhood, and a small desert town in Nevada.
Photography lets me reach out and connect with people I might not otherwise have connections with.
