About Susan

Susan purchased her first point-and-shoot digital camera after her granddaughter was born in 2003. Now, a second grandchild and a Leica M8 later, she's shooting more than ever.

Photography is Susan's way of exploring places, connecting with people, and expressing herself through art.

Susan shoots mostly on the streets of New York City, where she lives. She has also documented the last years of her father, 1915-2012. He had dementia and lived his last years in a nursing home in the Bronx.

And Susan teaches in the English Department at Fashion Institute of Technology, so she photographs life at work, too.
